About the book
This is a story about how an artist, her husband and a passion for Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C. ignited a fundraising phenomenon. Discover how their story folds into an altogether bigger story, where an amazing number of people championed the heart behind a cause in support of Cure Leukaemia, Carl Ikeme (the Wolves goalkeeper who has been fighting leukaemia) and Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C. Read the inside story and discover the spirit behind an incredible 2017/18 season, captured in 13 unique paintings by artist Louise Cobbold; where The Great Big Art Auction and raffle raised over £12,000.00 in support of the life-saving work of Cure Leukaemia.
In support of the fundraising phenomenon, we wanted to honour the last few months by creating the very best book we could. The final book, designed by Andrew G Stewart, with editorial contributions from Chris and Louise Cobbold has been many months in the making and we're very excited to share the finished product with you.
The book is 21cm square and 34 pages printed in full colour onto high-quality photographic paper, unique lay-flat binding with each copy embossed and hand numbered. We chose to partner with Bob Books, one of the best print on demand printers in the UK, and while lay flat books are expensive to print, we are absolutely delighted with the finished product. Each copy is bound using their high-quality lay-flat binding using genuine photographic paper, combining traditional photographic printing with state-of-the-art manufacturing. This is why Bob Books is the UK’s number one supplier of lay-flat photographic paper books.
If you're really interested in how it's printed, this next bit is for you. The book uses photographic paper, produced using a silver halide photographic process. Images are exposed onto the photographic paper and then developed through traditional chemical photographic processes. The pages are then bound using their unique lay-flat binding to show off double page spreads at their best.
